NEW ORLEANS — The home crowd at the Caesars’ Superdome appeared to know something big was coming as New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed set up to receive a punt.
The crowd roared right before Shaheed got in position near the Tampa Bay Buccaneers end zone in the second quarter. A minute later, Shaheed found a seam and sped away, easily scoring a 54-yard punt return for a touchdown to get the Saints back in the game, still trailing 17-10.

The Saints followed up that positive momentum with a Paulson Adebo interception of Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield, who was picked off at the Bucs’ 30-yard line while looking for Mike Evans. New Orleans kicked a field goal after the interception.
The team had gotten into an early deficit after giving up a touchdown on the first drive, followed by a Bucs’ fumble return for a touchdown. With 9:00 remaining in the second quarter, New Orleans further closed the deficit to 17-13 with a field goal.
