The Chiefs brought in multiple replacements as Butker was on the mend and saw great success.
Spencer Shrader and Matthew Wright each played in two games and converted 11 of 12 field goals combined. They also combined to make all eight point-after attempts.
Shrader and Wright were also heroes along Butker’s absence, with each hitting 31-yard FGs as time expired for wins in Weeks 12 and 14, respectively. Wright’s game-winning kick last Sunday earned the Chiefs their ninth consecutive AFC West title.
The Chiefs waived Wright on Saturday in a move that corresponded with activating Butker from IR.
Just as he’s proved throughout his eight-year career, Butker has also been clutch in 2024. The 29-year-old nailed a 44-yarder in Week 2 to beat the Bengals and begin what has been a season chock full of walk-off wins. He’ll resume his season on Sunday having made 18 of 20 FGs and 21 of 22 PATs.
Chiefs-Browns is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. ET.
