How to get rid of cellulite

Let’s face it, there’s no quick fix when it comes to cellulite. It’s totally normal, it doesn’t mean you’re overweight and often you can't make it go completely no matter what you do.

Luckily we do have some cellulite reducing tricks to try – but don’t expect miracles.

Squats:

With your feet are a little wider than hip width apart, stand with your toes slightly turned outwards. Clasp your hands together in front of your body.

With a straight spine, sit your body downwards between your legs so your hips are lower than just below your knees. At the bottom, root down through the heels to push yourself back to the start position.

Gliding lunge

Start by stepping your left leg out to the side in a lunge position so the left knee bends at 90 degrees as you sit the hips backwards. The right leg remains straight with your heel firmly on the floor.

Reach your left arm up and gently back to open the chest while the right hand reaches towards the left shin.

Step the legs back together and then repeat the movement stepping out on a diagonal backwards angle following the same arm pattern.

Do 8-12 reps on each leg.

Hip bridge

Lie down on your back with your arms alongside your body. Bend your left leg 90 degrees with your heel rested on a chair. Your right leg should be bent at a 90-degree angle.

With power, lift the hips towards the sky contracting the left buttock so that your torso and pelvis are in a straight line.

Let the right knee to drop open and thread your right foot under the leg.

Reverse the movement and lower the hips back down to the floor.

Repeat 8-12 repetitions on each side.

Nutrition

Cutting out high amounts of fat, carbohydrate and salt will help with your cellulite combat.

By increasing foods high in polyunsaturated Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids – oily fish, walnuts and sunflower oil as well as monounsaturated fats from nuts, seeds and avocados – you’ll also help to counter the cellulite.

Vitamin C is great for strengthening the skin’s connective tissue which can help to reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Lastly, stay hydrated as water can flush out toxins from the body and help beat the cellulite.
